TRAINING IN NUTRITIONAL BALANCING SCIENCE

Page Updated October 10, 2011

The Center For Development is pleased to offer a basic and advanced training in nutritional balancing science and hair analysis interpretation.

Nutritional balancing is a very exciting, sophisticated, safe, and powerful method to correct body chemistry and improve oneÕs health and well-being at the deepest levels.

It is based on correcting oneÕs diet and lifestyle, along with the addition of about 8 or 9 precisely targeted nutritional supplements.  It is mathematically precise, and must be done this way or it wonÕt work.  The design of the diet and supplement program is based on a unique way of interpreting a hair tissue mineral analysis.  For accuracy, the mineral testing laboratory must not wash the hair at the lab at all.

The founder of nutritional balancing science, or mineral balancing, as it was sometimes called, was Dr. Paul C. Eck.  He was a brilliant nutritionist, biochemist and researcher who lived from 1935 to 1996.  I was fortunate to study with him for 14 years.

Since his death, I have refined his work, adding new hair analysis patterns, a few important changes in the supplement recommendations, clearer dietary suggestions, and the use of near infrared sauna therapy, coffee enemas and the Roy Masters meditation.  While the basics are the same, these changes have made the programs much more powerful and even safer.

Nutritional balancing does not involve the use of remedies, except on rare occasions.  It also does not involve the use of medical drugs, bio-identical hormones, chelation therapy, or most herbs.  We find these to be either less safe, or less effective than the methods we use.  Most physical, as well as mental/emotional ailments respond well to this particular corrective therapy.  We do not recommend it for advanced cancers at this time, although you may inquire about this with me.

The basic training, leading to a Diploma in Nutritional Balancing Science, is described below.  To learn about the advanced training, which is open to all health practitioners, whether or not they complete the basic training, click on Advanced Training And Coaching in Nutritional Balancing Science.

BASIC TRAINING – THE DIPLOMA PROGRAM

The basic training consists of two parts:

1. Three home-study courses.

2. A nutritional balancing program for yourself if you are not already on a program.

The courses. Each course includes a study guide, a textbook, and an examination that you complete at home and mail in for grading.  The subject matter of the courses is as follows:

COURSE #1. THE SCIENCE AND PRACTICE OF NUTRITIONAL BALANCING.  This course covers a wide array of topics and is the largest course, with 240 examination questions.  Topics include the theory of the science, the use of hair mineral analysis, interpretation of the hair mineral tests, understanding diet, lifestyle, basic supplementation, detoxification, healing reactions, and much more.

The textbook for this course is the fourth edition (2010) of Nutritional Balancing and Hair Mineral Analysis by Lawrence Wilson, MD.

COURSE #2. THE SCIENCE AND PRACTICE OF SAUNA THERAPY.  This course covers many areas of healing and detoxification, focusing on the use of an unusual type of sauna that uses infrared heat lamps.  Topics include the theory of sauna detoxification, physiological effects of sauna bathing, cautions, protocols, contraindications and procedures for sauna use, sauna design and construction, and more.

The textbook for this course is the 2006 or 2011 edition of Sauna Therapy by Lawrence Wilson, MD.

COURSE #3. LEGAL ASPECTS OF A NUTRITION CONSULTING PRACTICE.  This shorter course discusses many aspects of how to conduct a nutritional consulting practice to avoid legal and other types of difficulties that often plague natural healers.  Topics range from understanding the structure of American and Anglo-Saxon law, understanding the occupational licensing laws, legal and business options for working as a nutrition coach, physician or consultant, common pitfalls and errors practitioners make that cause legal problems, how to deal with local and federal authorities, and much more.

The textbook for this course is Legal Guidelines For Unlicensed Practitioners by Lawrence Wilson, MD.  The course is excellent for licensed practitioners, as well as unlicensed ones.

The basic program culminates in a Diploma In Basic Nutritional Balancing Science.

The three course are designed to prepare anyone to offer nutritional balancing programs to others by providing basic reference and other necessary knowledge.  This program not designed to teach the details of how to set up a nutritional balancing program.  Rather, it is designed to be used in conjunction with the Advanced Training And Coaching.  In the advanced training, the practitioner reviews actual cases with a coach who I assign in order to assist others with their health conditions.

Accreditation.  The Diploma is awarded by Westbrook University, an accredited distance learning university based in West Virginia, USA.

Prerequisites.  The major prerequisites for the Diploma program are a desire to learn this work, and a desire to help others with their health.  Knowledge in the fields of nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, psychology and/or degrees in medicine, naturopathy, chiropractic or other healing arts may be helpful to understand the material, but is not required at this time.

Students are also required to follow a nutritional balancing program themselves while they take the course.

Fees. The fee for the entire Diploma program is $500.00 US dollars for those in the United States.  For international orders, please add $60.00 for extra shipping and handling of the course materials for a total fee of $560.00 US dollars for international students.

How long does it take to complete the program? You may take as long as you like to complete the three open-book examinations.  Some people finish the courses in as little as two months, while other take longer.  It just depends how much time you spend on the courses.

Exam scoring. When you have finished the examinations, mail the exams back to me.  I will grade them and, assuming you pass the exams with a score of 90% or better, your Diploma will be mailed to you immediately from Westbrook University.

If you do not score 90% or better on all three examinations, issuance of the Diploma will be delayed.  I will mail your exams back to you and you will need to correct the exam answers that were incorrect and mail the low-scoring exams back to me for regrading.  If the exams are still not satisfactory, I may mail them back to you again for more corrections, or I may decide that you are not yet ready to learn nutritional balancing science.  So far, this has never occurred, however.

Ability To Offer Hair Mineral Analysis.  With this Diploma, you may open a mineral analysis account at Analytical Research Laboratories.  This allows you to offer hair tissue mineral analysis and to purchase the hair mineral analyses and nutritional products at a discount as well.
