SLOW OXIDIZER ON CRUTCHES

What
I call slow on crutches is a common and
very important hair mineral analysis pattern. It is often a hidden pattern, which means that it is not
always obvious when one views a hair mineral analysis.
Definition of slow
on crutches. This pattern appears mainly in slow
oxidizers. The oxidation rate
often appears fairly balanced, and usually slow, though I suppose it could be
fast as well. the sodium/potassium
ratio is often a little low, between 1 and 2, and usually not extremely low.
The concept of the pattern is
that the oxidation rate, while it is slow, appears faster than it is really is,
because the oxidation rate is enhanced by the presence of toxic metals or other
factors that are raising the sodium and potassium levels. This makes the oxidation rate look
faster than it really is. The
laboratory must not wash the hair for accurate results.
WHICH METALS OR
OTHER FACTORS ELEVATE OR ENHANCE THE OXIDATION RATE?
The
most common toxic metals are aluminum, lead, cadmium, arsenic and
perhaps nickel. Other
possible ones include antimony and even uranium.
Others are toxic forms of iron, copper, manganese, selenium
and chromium. These are quite common, in fact, and
are called Ôthe amigosŐ because they are usually found together. The amigos are among the minerals that
are known to enhance the oxidation rate, probably by irritating the adrenal
glands or the central nervous system.
Other
factors that could enhance the oxidation rate in a stimulatory way are some toxic chemicals such as pesticides,
some hormones such as DHEA, pregnenelone,
testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and others. Other factors might be chemicals
found in some herbs or vitamins.
Finally, an attitude or lifestyle factor could also be elevating the oxidation rate,
especially on a first hair mineral analysis.
SYMPTOMS OR
EVIDENCE OF THE SLOW OXIDIZER ON CRUTCHES PATTERN
Sometimes
one does not have a clue that the oxidation rate, while slow, is faster than it
should be. However, on many tests
there are telltale signs of this phenomenon, which is common. Some of these signs are:
á The presence of elevated toxic metals. Aluminum is the most common, but also manganese, iron, lead, cadmium, copper or others.
á
A low sodium/potassium ratio. While this is not always a reliable
indicator, it often is a good indicator.
á
Symptoms in the client that are more
severe than the test indicates or simply do not match the oxidation rate. For example, the client may be
exhausted or severely hypoglycemic, but the test does not indicate these trends
or tendencies.
á
A low phosphorus level in a person with
a fairly good oxidation rate may occur in some cases.
á
Oddly, the absence of any elevated
toxic metal readings in a person who has multiple significant symptoms. This tends to indicate that the body is
so weak or with such low vitality that it cannot eliminate toxic metals through
the skin and hair. Examples are an
aluminum level less than about 0.6 mg%, and the presence of Double 00s Pattern on the test such as a cadmium
level of 0.002 mg%. When the toxic
level is extremely low it often means that the person simply cannot eliminate
the metal, and not that it is not present, since most people are somewhat toxic
today.
á
If the client has an obvious lifestyle
habit or factor that may enhance the oxidation rate. This may range from drinking a lot of coffee or caffeinated
soda or tea, to doing extreme exercise daily, to smoking, drug addiction if the
drug is a stimulant, or other significant lifestyle stress in some way.
THE MEANING AND
IMPLICATIONS OF THIS PATTERN
The
slow on crutches pattern is so common that it is important to discuss its
importance. First, it is important
to understand that most peopleŐs oxidation rate is influenced, to some degree,
by toxins that just stimulate the adrenals and/or the thyroid gland.
Knowing
this, one can understand why a personŐs oxidation rate may fluctuate, and often
may decline on a retest, even though the person is receiving the correct
program to enhance it. This can
also help us to understand why a personŐs energy level may rise and fall during
a nutritional balancing program, even when the person is receiving the correct
program to balance the oxidation rate.
It can also help explain other transient symptoms that occur during
nutritional balancing programs ranging from feelings of depression and
exhaustion, to feelings of euphoria, anxiety, irritability, hypoglycemia,
allergies, muscle cramps and many others.
FOR BEST RESULTS
WITH A SLOW ON CRUTCHES PATTERN, IT MAY BE BEST TO ASSUME THAT THE
SODIUM/POTASSIUM RATIO IS LOWER THAN IT APPEARS
In
most cases of a slow on crutches pattern, the sodium/potassium ratio is not
that low. However, the ratio may
well be lower. This should be
taken into account when setting up the nutritional balancing program. This provides more support for the body
and may help it to more rapidly eliminate the toxic crutches such as toxic
metals and toxic chemicals.
