NUTRITIONAL BALANCING AND HAIR MINERAL ANALYSIS (2010 edition)

Updated July 2011, The Center For Development

ADDITIONS AND UPDATES

1. New sympathetic dominance indicator.  An additional indicator for sympathetic dominance pattern is a 3 highs or 4 highs pattern, along with an elevated sodium/potassium ratio.

2.  Poor eliminator pattern.  Very low toxic metal levels, or some nutrient mineral levels, indicate that the body cannot eliminate the metal, and so it builds up inside the body.  This is explained in a new article on the website entitled Poor Eliminator Pattern.

3. The Mineral System. This is included in the new book, but it is not emphasized enough.   The mineral system is the intimate relationships between minerals by which giving one mineral raises or lowers another mineral.  This is an extremely advanced topic, and a very complex subject.  However, it is at the heart of nutritional balancing science, and this must be emphasized more.

4. P. 47. Add the following supplements that would be excellent for most people: calcium about 750 mg daily, magnesium, about 450 mg daily, zinc about 20 mg daily, and GB-3 or another powerful digestive aid.

5. Retest patterns are also not included in the book, as they are newly described in some cases.  Some are listed on the Read Articles page of the website under the heading of Hair Mineral Analysis patterns.

6. Additional topics. The following articles at WWW.DRLWILSON.COM discuss additional material:

Acupuncture And Nutritional Balancing

Medical Marijuana

Suicide

Reflexology

Quantifying The Hair Analysis Patterns – This is a very important, newer concept in hair analysis interpretation.

Many articles also discuss other topics in more detail and with new information.

CORRECTIONS

1. Page 155.  Lead is not found below calcium on the periodic table of the elements, but replaces it.

2. Page 489 and 490. An additional cause for a four lows pattern is called a psycho-spiritual four lows. This appears to be a type of defensive posturing by the body that I call Ôhiding  in the tunnel of deathÓ.  It is a resting pattern seen in some very sensitive, young people.  It appears to be a way to protect the self until the person can get his or her bearings and emerge as an adult.  Usually, there are few physical symptoms except perhaps fatigue and fears.  It can respond faster than other causes for four lows.

3. Page 141. In the paragraph entitled Mild, moderate and extreme mixed oxidation, remove the italicized words fast and slow from the formulas and they are otherwise fairly correct.

4. Page 142. In the paragraph entitled The degree of balanced mixed oxidation, the math criteria are not correct.  I prefer to use the simple methods described in the book.  Here are some more complex formulas that may also work okay.

To assess whether one is a fast or slow mixed oxidizer:

(((Ca/K)/4 x 100) – 100) – (((Na/Mg)/4.17 x 100) – 100) =

if number is positive, then is a slow mixed oxidizer

if number is negative, then is a fast mixed oxidizer

To assess the degree of fast or slow mixed oxidation:

((Ca/K)/4 x 100) – ((Na/Mg/4.17 x 100) =                                   0 – 100 is mild

                                                                                                                              100-1000 is moderate

                                                                                                                              > 1000 is extreme

To assess the degree of severity or extreme nature of the ratios in mixed oxidation:

(((Ca/K)/4 x 100) + ((Na/Mg)/4.17 x 100)) /2 =

                  40 – 400 is mild

                  400-800 is moderate

                  <40 or >800 is extreme
