Ammonia is a major poison in some people’s bodies. The chemical formula for ammonia is NH3. It has a strong smell.

Ammonia is used in glass cleaners because it gets rid of streaking. You can smell the ammonia in some of these products.

REASONS FOR AMMONIA POISONING

Too much production of ammonia:

- Too much protein in the diet.

- Impaired protein digestion, which leaves some undigested protein fragments in the blood.

Not enough ammonia elimination:

- A toxic liver that does not remove enough ammonia.

- Toxic and depleted kidneys that do not remove enough ammonia.

SYMPTOMS OF AMMONIA EXCESS

Odor. Ammonia has a strong smell. It is the chemical that gives urine its characteristic smell. Some of our clients report smelling it when they are in the sauna. You can smell it on some people. I notice it a little if I eat a lot of cheese. It means I don’t digest cheese perfectly.

Ammonia is the major smell of old people who have impaired digestion, impaired liver activity and impaired kidney activity. Sometimes you can smell it in nursing homes and hospital wards.

Physical effects. Ammonia is a subtle poison that causes many symptoms. Among the most prominent are fatigue or lethargy, weakness, kidney impairment, liver impairment, and digestive disturbances. Very high levels of ammonia are associated with seizures and coma, and even death.

Mental effects. Newer research indicates that ammonia causes potassium chloride to build up around nerve cells and this poisons them. This results in many possible mental symptoms such as confusion and one type of dementia that is common in older people.

CORRECTION OF AMMONIA EXCESS

Diet: Protein intake must be regulated. We allow only 4 to 5 ounce portions of protein food per meal. Most people cannot digest more protein than this at one meal.

Nutritional supplements: A proteolytic digestive enzyme such as GB-3 from Endomet Labs is extremely helpful. One or more of these per meal will assist protein digestion.

The other supplements on the development program are also helpful to balance the oxidation rate, the sodium/potassium ratio and other mineral ratios. Supplements such as Renamide assist the activity of the kidneys.

Other supplements on the development program supply missing nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D. These also help with ammonia toxicity.

The healing and detoxification procedures. Coffee enemas are very helpful for ammonia toxicity. The red heat lamp or red heat lamp sauna is also excellent, as is the spinal twist procedure, reflexology, and the pulling down procedure.

ADD AMMONIA TO THE LIST OF THE “A” POISONS

A way to remember some of the major metabolic poisons in our bodies is that they begin with A:

Alcoholism, Slightly Inebriated From Yeast Overgrowth and Dry Drunk Syndrome – Alcohol is a well known poison. Millions of people who do not drink much alcohol produce alcohol inside their bodies because they eat sugar, fruit or any sweets. These ferment and alcohol is one of the byproducts of fermentation. It causes brain fog, dementia, loss of balance, spaciness, liver disease and more.

Aldehydes – These come from eating anything sweet and from eating many fermented foods such as kombucha tea. This can produce brain fog and many other health conditions.

Amigos – These are oxide and carbonate forms of minerals that come from eating foods grown with superphosphate fertilizers. Fruits also contain more of them. They are powerful irritants.

AGES – These toxins come from eating roasted, baked, grilled and fried food.

Ammonia – This comes from eating too much protein, or from impaired protein digestion, from a toxic liver or toxic kidneys, or from dehydration. Also read Ammonia Odor Of The Sweat.
