For cleanliness, men and boys need to:

1. Sit on the toilet each time they use the bathroom, for both urination and defecation.

2. After urination, boys and men need to hold a piece of toilet paper against the head of the penis to catch the drips. Due to men’s anatomy, they need to hold it there for 20 seconds.

The reason for this is that the valve that stops urination is deep inside the body and when one shuts it off, urine that is in the tube leading to the penis keeps dripping out until it is all empty. This takes up to 20 seconds after one finishes urinating.

For those familiar with home building, this is the same idea as a frost-free hose bib. The valve is deep inside the wall of the home so that it will not freeze. When you turn the valve off, water keeps flowing for a few seconds because there is water left in the tube leading to the outside of the home.
