DEFINITION

The all-down or retention pattern is an important newer mineral pattern. It is present when the levels of eight or more minerals decrease on a retest hair mineral analysis.

II. THE MEANING OF RETAINED OR ALL DOWN PATTERN

This pattern indicates the body is in a building up mode rather than an eliminating mode. When the body is primarily rebuilding, it uses up its reserves of some minerals and does not want them to find their way into the skin and hair where they will be lost to the body.

Holding on to the minerals causes a lower reading in the hair tissue.

When toxic metal levels decrease on a hair mineral test it means fewer of them are being eliminated through the skin or hair. This is part of the building up mode of the body.

BUILDING MODE VERSUS ELIMINATIVE MODE

When the body is in a all out or everything coming out pattern, it is strongly in an eliminative mode of activity. When the body is in a retention or all down pattern, it is in a building mode. Both of these activities are very good and necessary for healing.

In the building mode, elimination slows down. This can cause the levels of many minerals to decrease on a hair mineral retest.

ARMORING

This related pattern is present when the levels of one or more minerals dips very low. The criteria for this varies with each mineral.

In this pattern, the affected mineral or minerals goes into a poor eliminator pattern.

This pattern can occur due to preparing to handle a stressor. In some cases, it is due to the person needing but not doing the pulling down procedure. For details, read The Pulling Down Procedure.

The way to tell this pattern is that the level or levels of minerals become extremely low. For the exact criteria for each mineral, read Poor Eliminator Patterns.
