The individuals and companies listed below are the ONLY ONES offering near infrared lamp saunas whose design we approve of.
PRICES VARY, BUT ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SAUNAS WILL WORK EQUALLY WELL.
July 2019. Stern Warning. We can no longer recommend SaunaSpace saunas because their heat lamps are very harmful and they ignored our plea to stop selling the lamps.
It may sound outrageous, but their lamps are putting out some ionizing radiation. This is extremely dangerous. I asked them to stop selling their brand of heat lamps, but they have not complied.
If you have one of their sauna units, immediately replace the reddish bulbs. See below for suggestions for replacements.
II. RECOMMENDED SAUNA BUILDERS
NOTE: Saunas are heavy so depending upon where you live, it matters from where the sauna is shipped.
Products. Sauna products include partial units that are heat lamp units that you mount in an existing sauna or shower area. They also include complete saunas, either made of wood or a frame covered with canvas or another material.
RECOMMENDED SAUNA BUILDERS IN THE UNITED STATES (companies are listed in alphabetical order for convenience. None are superior.)
Types of saunas: Cedarbrook is an older, traditional sauna company. They offer just a three-bulb light unit, a canvas-covered frame lamp sauna, and more expensive wooden saunas. Ships from Washington state, USA.

INTERNATIONAL SAUNA BUILDERS
NEAR INFRARED SAUNAS UK. They offer a canvas-covered frame “tent” saunas and wooden saunas that are crafted from natural materials to suit customers' requirements. Ships from London, UK.
III. RECOMMENDED HEAT LAMPS
Heat lamps. At this time, we recommend only the standard brands of red heat lamps such as Sylvania, General Electric, Philips, Westinghouse, SLi, Satco, Havel, and Feat. There may be a few other brands that are okay, but these are among the most popular ones. Some companies sell a splatterproof red heat lamp that may have a coating, and this is okay.
STRICTLY AVOID BULBS SOLD BY SAUNASPACE, THERABULB AND RUBYLUX. These are actually more costly and are advertised to be better. However, they put out ionizing radiation that is extremely harmful. Stop using them at once!
We also do not recommend TDP lamps, LED lamps, halogen lamps, and clear rather than red heat lamps. These are not helpful for development.
On August 27, 2019, we received a nasty letter from Therabulb demanding that we remove any reference to their bulb. Here is: Their letter and our response.
