A library of books and records from the world before the time of Abraham formerly existed in the city of Alexandria, Egypt.  The library supposedly opened around 300 BC and lasted for at least 400 years before it was finally destroyed by fire and attacks from the Romans and the Muslims.

An excellent discussion of this library is available at Wikipedia on the internet at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_of_Alexandria.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

The library at Alexandria is quite important because the documents that were in this library can confirm or disprove the truth of the Hebrew and the Christian Bibles.  Some scholars believe that before the destruction some of the most important books and documents it contained were moved to an alternate location, and not the alternate location that was later destroyed by a Roman emperor.

The location of this alternate library site is thought to be underground, near the famous Egyptian pyramids.
