DEFINITION
Combining programs means taking advice from many practitioners or other sources and adding to or modifying the development program with it.
This is a great temptation. The reasons are:
- There are many sources of health information, some of which sound very convincing.
- It is often easier. For example, some people don’t want to go to the trouble of cooking vegetables all the time. They may gravitate toward sources of information that say one does not need cooked vegetables and that salads or fruit will work just as well. THEY DON’T WORK!
- It is even more tempting if you are having difficulty with your development program or just feel you are not moving along fast enough.
We have extensive experience with people combining programs. In most all cases, it does not work. Even worse, it usually ruins the development program! This article explains why and what you can do if you feel the development program is not working well for you.
II. PROBLEMS WITH PRACTITIONERS
One reason combining programs does not work has to do with the people who recommend various products and therapies. Here are problems we encounter with them.
SYMPTOMATIC AND LIMITED THINKING RATHER THAN A WHOLE SYSTEM APPROACH
Most healing practitioners only know symptomatic methods. Very, very few go beyond this level of understanding regarding healing of the body. This includes medical personnel, holistic healers, naturopaths, chiropractors, nutritionists and many others.
Unfortunately, this also applies to most all practitioners of acupuncture. Acupuncture is an ancient and wonderful science, and bears many similarities to our modern development science. However, the way it is done in today’s world is not very good, regardless of a person’s training or skill level. For details, read Acupuncture.
All the practitioners above often give bad advice that may sound good and is “backed up by research”. It includes advice to eat raw food, fruit, smoothies and other drinks, the use of herbs, chelation therapy, homeopathy, medical drugs, and much more. This advice almost always ruins development programs. Please beware! For more details, read Chelation Therapy, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Herbs, Intravenous Vitamins, and The Healing Arts.
COMMERCIAL ORIENTATION
A large number of practitioners of all kinds want to sell products and services. This may be difficult to detect, but is true. They recommend extra products, for example, and may discourage a person from taking products that come from someone else.
Privately, a number of medical and holistic practitioners have told me they believe they cannot really heal people completely and stay in business. They need people to keep coming back in order to maintain their business. So they recommend methods that don’t work too well. This is unfortunate, but true.
CONTROLLED BY LICENSES
Licensed health practitioners are very often heavily controlled by their state licensing board or by other methods. As a result, they cannot do what they know is best for you.
This definitely applies to licensed medical personnel and to licensed naturopaths in America and elsewhere. For example, if any of these practitioners tells you to avoid vaccination, usually he or she will lose their license. This is very sad, but true, and they usually will not tell you that they are controlled.
ROGUES
This is difficult to write about. However, today, many practitioners who claim to offer health services do not want people to become fully well and developed. They are malicious and really want to keep people from achieving the best health.
Some of these individuals are practitioners that I have trained, and who claim they understand our work. For details, read The Rogues.
LACK OF EXPERIENCE
Many health practitioners simply do not have a lot of experience. It does not matter if the person has advanced degrees, licenses, diplomas or other certifications.
That is not the same as experience! We have over 40 years of experience with the development program and our medical team has much more than that.
III. PROBLEMS WITH VARIOUS THERAPIES
YIN
This is one of the worst problems with combining programs. Most therapies, including holistic methods, are rather yin in macrobiotic terminology. They may relieve symptoms very well, but they make the body more yin.
Yin means cold and expanded, and is a physics quality of the body. We find that all bodies today are already too yin due to radiation toxicity, poisoning with toxic metals and chemicals, nutritional depletion, cell phone towers and cell phones, improper thinking, and more.
Excessive yin is a very serious problem and it is made worse by most holistic and other therapies. These include eating fruit, eating raw food, not eating enough meat and some eggs, taking herbs, random vitamins, and too many supplements of any kind. For details, read Yin Disease and other articles about this subject such as Yang and Yin Healing. All are found on the Read Articles page.
TOXICITY
Most herbs, many nutritional supplements, all homeopathy, all chelation products, and most all medical drugs are too toxic and interfere with development. We do not care what others say about them. This is our experience.
Please beware of this problem. The toxicity can be very subtle, including the problem of too yin discussed above.
UNBALANCING THE BODY
Development depends not only upon deeply nourishing the body and detoxifying it at deep levels. It also requires balancing the oxidation rate and balancing the sodium/potassium ratio and other mineral ratios, as revealed on a properly performed and correctly interpreted hair mineral test. We wish this were not needed, but it is.
Many therapies and products that practitioners recommend not only do not balance these. They make it worse and this stops development, even if one’s symptoms improve. For details, read The Balance Concept.
GETTING OFF THE PATH
Development is a life path, not a therapy. Attempting to combine programs takes one off this path and discourages one from doing all that is needed for development. This is very important!! For details, read The Path Concept.
OTHER
Combining programs causes other problems. For example, often clients do not tell us all of the products they are taking, or all the therapies they are doing. This makes it difficult or impossible to understand a person’s symptoms or to properly interpret their hair mineral tests.
This wastes a lot of my time and that of our Helpers. My temptation is not to work with anyone who combines programs, and we may tell you that. We know the effects of combining and how confusing it is for the body and for the Helpers and myself. Please don’t do it!!!
IV. WHICH THERAPIES CAN BE COMBINED WITH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM?
MEDICAL THERAPY
A few medical drugs such as medication for high blood pressure, insulin for diabetes, and several others are clearly needed, at times. We do not recommend stopping drugs without carefully considering the consequences.
Dr. Wilson has a medical education and background, and this is important to know. We will assist you to discontinue medication, but only if and when it is safe to do so. One can discontinue many drugs as the body heals, but it is an individual matter.
CHIROPRACTIC OR OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATION
This is one of the few natural therapies that combines well with the development program. It needs to be of good quality, and this can be difficult to find.
However, the principles of chiropractic or osteopathic manipulation are correct and this therapy can be most helpful. Just don’t take the vitamins and other remedies offered by chiropractors and others. For details, read Chiropractice.
BODYWORK
Rolfing, structural integration, Hellerwork, professional reflexology, massage, and a number of other methods of bodywork can be helpful. However, professional bodywork has two serious problems.
Rape. One problem is rape, especially since one often undresses to a degree when receiving these therapies. This makes it very unsafe for young women. One answer would be to bring a big, strong man with you to your sessions. However, there is another problem.
Infections. The other problem is that bodyworkers touch bodies all day and pick up infections. For this reason, it is very easy to acquire infections from bodyworkers. This is difficult to avoid because most bodyworkers do not want to use gloves and even if they do, infections can also be on sheets, tables, and other equipment.
For these two reasons, we only recommend bodywork at home with your marriage partner or a trusted friend. For details, read Massage.
V. WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
1. Often, difficulties arise because your body chemistry has shifted. We utilize four basic metabolic types. These are fast oxidation with a normal or high sodium/potassium ratio, fast oxidation with a low sodium/potassium ratio, slow oxidation and four lows pattern. Each of these can also be more or less extreme.
For example, if you having difficulty, your body chemistry may have shifted so that you now need a fast oxidizer program or a four lows program instead of a slow oxidizer program.
We encourage you to submit a question to your Helper and we will check this. However, you can also try changing the program by adding fat, for example, if you are on a slow oxidizer diet. Fat is needed if one moves into fast oxidation. This is much better than running off and visiting other practitioners or trying other remedies.
2. In our experience, if you follow the program well, many symptoms are healing or purification reactions. They can be quite unusual! For example, a nosebleed or a crying spell can be methods the body uses to eliminate toxins.
Often the healing reaction will pass in a day or in a few days. If it does not go away, or appears serious, and if you are on a complete program, we encourage you to submit a question to your Helper and we will assist you. Our Helpers need to pass on questions to Dr. Wilson and not try to take care of things themselves.
3. Another common reason for difficulties is that you are not following the program correctly, even if you think you are. Recently, a client had a skin rash that went away when she began the program, but it came back a few months later.
We checked and she was eating frozen vegetables. These do not work well for development. Also, she had started to eat much too much dairy products. These mistakes wrecked the program.
4. Stress. A stressful life situation can cause problems with the development program. For the program to work, one needs plenty of rest and sleep, and not too much stress. Stressors can be financial problems, a move, relationship problems, job stress, school stress for children, or something else.
In these instances, we may be able to adjust a program to take into account the stress. However, when possible, the best solution is to take action to remove the stress.
