Polyester used in baby clothing and crib sheets contains the toxic metal, antimony.  This is definitely harmful for your baby.  The antimony compound appears to interfere with RNA transcription.  This impairs the synthesis of all body proteins, which include all the hormones and millions of critical enzymes in the body.  This can definitely slow down biosynthesis and delay the development of your child.

The same problem exists in polyester clothing for adults.   However, the rapid growth rate of babies seems to cause even more absorption of the chemical to occur in babies and young children.

SOLUTIONS

1. DonŐt buy polyester clothing or sheets for your baby and his or her crib.  The problem is less common in cotton and other natural fabrics.

2. If you buy anything containing polyester, be sure to wash it several times with detergent before using it.
