EXCITOTOXINS

            These are toxins found in certain food products that have an excitatory effect on the nervous system.  They are best avoided, and this is not difficult to do by eating fresh, real foods and not processed foods.

 

SOURCES OF EXCITOTOXINS

 

Monosodium glutamate or MSG

Hydrolyzed proteins

Soy proteins

Soy extract

ÒNatural flavoringsÓ listed on a food label

Broth

Stock

Carrageenan

Autolyzed yeast extract

Vegetable proteins

 

            As you can see, these are all processed foods.  By eating natural foods only, you will avoid these chemicals.
