The purpose of this short article is to question the way magic is defined in teachings such as A Course In Miracles and The Jeshua Material from Shanti Christo Foundation. These teachings define magic as anything other than the use of pure mind power to achieve a goal.
For example, taking vitamins and following a diet for the purpose of healing would be considered a “magical means” of achieving health.
We do not agree with this use of the word magic. There is nothing magical about physical methods such as diets. Furthermore, we think it is deliberately confusing and potentially very dangerous. It steers people away from doing things that are simply common sense.
Please be careful if you read A Course In Miracles and related books about what we consider this flaw in the teaching.
