All illness tends to be a type of vicious cycle. Otherwise the body is self-correcting and there would be no illness. The following are some of the most important biochemical vicious cycles that we encounter and that are very poorly known.

THE ZINC-DIGESTION CYCLE

Zinc deficiency causes impaired digestion. This leads to reduced zinc absorption from the diet. This, in turn, worsens zinc deficiency. This is a very important cycle that slowly wrecks a person’s health.

THE BURNOUT AND SLEEP CYCLE

When one is in adrenal burnout, more sleep does not solve one’s fatigue. Either one keeps sleeping a lot with no benefit, but usually one just figures that sleep is not helpful and one sleeps even less. However, this makes the burnout situation worse.

COPPER AND REST

As the body becomes more exhausted, copper builds up in the tissues. This impairs one’s sleep. If one does not get enough rest and sleep, one becomes more exhausted and this worsen’s the copper imbalance.

EXERCISE ADDICTION

The more one exercises, the more exhausted one can become. Then one needs more exercise as a stimulant. This easily leads to exercise addiction. This eventually leads to even more adrenal exhaustion.

The same can occur with other types of activity. More activity makes one more tired. Then one needs more of the activity as a stimulant, and the activity can become an addiction.

SEXUAL DEPLETION

Too much ordinary sex depletes nutrients and causes fatigue and depression. This can increase the desire for sex as a way to relieve the depression. However, this just depletes the body more. This happens to women who have sexual fluid craving, among many others.
